How do I get an access token?
  1. This has to be done in a web browser — the Canvas phone app can't do it. On a computer, or on your phone's browser with "Desktop site" turned on, log in to Canvas.
  2. Click your profile picture (top-left), then Account, then Settings.
  3. Scroll all the way down to Approved Integrations and click + New Access Token.
  4. In the popup, type "Deskside" for the purpose. Leave "Expires" blank. Click Generate Token.
  5. A long code will appear — this is your token. Click to select it all, copy it, then come back here and paste it into the "Access token" box above.

Canvas only shows you the token once, so copy it before closing that popup — if you lose it, just generate a new one. Some schools turn student access tokens off entirely; if you don't see the "+ New Access Token" button, Deskside can't connect to your school yet.

Quick look keeps your token encrypted in a cookie in this browser only — no account, and nothing about you is saved on Deskside's servers. You can revoke the token in Canvas at any time. Privacy and terms.
